Steamboat Springs Club Registration

To attend the Steamboat Springs Club you must be a registered member. The annual membership fee is $25. After you register, you can sign up for events & programs like Play Days, Summer Camps, and special-interest programs. These programs have additional fees, and scholarships are available – contact us. Once your child is accepted into a program, we will send you information regarding program details, safety protocols, and child expectations.

Steamboat Springs Programs

The Boys & Girls Club of Steamboat Springs provides a safe, positive place for kids in the Steamboat Springs community. Our Club has full time, part time, and junior staff youth development professionals, who mentor, teach and play with the youth we serve.

After School Program

Monday–Thursday, 2pm–6pm
FREE with annual membership ($25)
Serving kids age 6 - 8th grade
  • Soda Creek Elementary students are met by BGC staff and escorted to the club
  • Emerald Mountain students are escorted by Emerald Mountain staff
  • Sleeping Giant Elementary students ride school bus route 14 to the Club
  • Strawberry Park Elementary & Steamboat Springs Middle School students ride school bus route 24 to the Club
The Steamboat Springs After School program includes snack time, organized youth development programs, fun games and activities in a safe and positive environment with trusted adults. Program examples include character building, financial literacy, internet safety, bully prevention, mentoring, drug and alcohol prevention, leadership activities, volunteering, rec room tournaments, guided arts & crafts, gym programs and so much more.

On most school days off the BGC is open for Play Days with organized programs all day. Snacks and lunch are provided on school days off at the Steamboat Springs Club. Field trips are offered at an additional cost. Please see the calendar for the Play Day schedule.

Summer Camp

7:30am–6pm, Monday–Friday
June 8–August 7 (closed week of June 29)
$70/week with annual membership ($25)
Serving kids age 6 – 8th grade
Advanced registration required

Our summer camp keeps kids and middle-schoolers moving, learning, and having fun all summer long. The Steamboat Springs Club offers camps for kids age 6 – 5th grade, and a middle school camp for kids 6th – 8th grade. Scholarships for weekly fees are available.

Middle School and High School Programs

Mary Brown Teen Center (aka The Attic)

Members in middle school and high school can enter “The Attic.” A space designed for and by teens. The Attic has a gaming station, a ping pong table, an air hockey table and a lounge area. It is open from 3-6pm every day and is staffed by a youth development professional, specializing in teens.

Keystone Club

Free and open to ALL high schoolers

Steamboat Springs Club – corner of 8th & Aspen

Looking for a safe, fun, and meaningful way to get involved? Keystone Club – open to all high school students – builds leadership skills and friendships. We also take part in fun community events, with plenty of volunteer opportunities. Additionally, Keystone Club offers career prep and college application support. It gives teens the chance to grow, give back, and prepare for their future—all while having fun! Thank you to our sponsors, Alpine Bank and Talon Grips! Friday Nights at the Club

Are you looking for something fun to do on a Friday night? A place to hang out with friends? The Boys & Girls Club has the perfect spot for you! Come by the Club gym for a different event every week. Look for Casino Nights, DJs from Denver, Trivia Night, Paint & Sips, Movie Nights and more. This is a great chance to try something new, make friends, and unwind after a long week. Youth of the Year

Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Club member can receive. But it’s more than just a scholarship program, it’s a chance for youth- – in partnership with mentors – to develop skills they can use in college applications, admissions interviews, job interviews and beyond. Each nominee is awarded a scholarship and the winner takes home the Youth of the Year title and a $10,000 scholarship.

Junior Staff and CITs

The Club helps youth get ready to join the workforce by providing paid staff positions for youth aged 16 – 18. Under the guidance of caring adult mentors, staff receive help with building positive work ethics, customer service skills, life skills, college prep and career planning.

The Counselor in Training (CIT) program gives 8th and 9th graders the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with children in age 6-3rd grade. Participants build resilience, develop positive mentoring skills, engage in meaningful community service, and have fun while earning their first paycheck.

Steamboat Springs Club Orientation / FAQ

3pm–6pm on school days, 7:30am–6pm on Play Days
Kids should be comfortable and ready to play inside or out. For winter, this means warm jackets and snow boots. For summer, sneakers or closed-toed sandals will allow them to be ready for anything, including bike rides, which require closed-toed shoes. When field trips are scheduled, wearing a Boys & Girls Club t-shirt is best so we are all easily identified.
No, we provide breakfast, lunch and snacks on Play Days and during summer camp.
If your child has dietary restrictions, please email Theresa so we can best accommodate your child’s needs. If you would prefer to pack a lunch, and your child’s dietary restrictions require that their food be refrigerated, please let us know at drop-off so we can properly store their food.
No, After School days are free with your $25 annual membership. There is no need to register for these days. We are ready and excited to see your child if they come after school. You do need to register for Fridays Off, Play Days and Summer Camp weeks.
No, just select the weeks they will be in attendance, even if they will not be there all week.

Scholarships are available for additional fee-based days or programs like Play Days, summer camps, and special activities. The annual $25 membership is not covered by scholarships. Scholarships are available to families who meet the income guidelines – see this chart.

If your family does not meet these guidelines or you have an additional, unexpected hardship, and you cannot afford Play Days or Camp, please contact us at so we can schedule a time to discuss. We want all children who need us to have access to the Club.
Please see our calendar – above. We will put all special field trips and information there. Also, make sure your email is correct in your My Club Hub account and that you have marked bgcnwc.org as a safe sender so it does not go to spam.
We will contact you if we have an opening for the week you would like to attend. If you were not notified and show up to the Club, you will be sent home. For your child’s safety and the safety of everyone, we have limits on group sizes. Additionally, on field trip days, we monitor how many seats we have on the bus.

Steamboat Springs High School Junior
Joined Club: 3rd Grade
I was an extremely shy child, and the Club helped me find my voice. Over time, I gained confidence through the relationships I built and the encouragement I received from staff and peers. Now, I try to do the same for quiet kids at the Club who might otherwise go unnoticed, making sure they feel seen and supported. I especially love working in the gym, where I get to watch kids build confidence, friendships, and teamwork skills through the many games we play together. One particularly hard day, everything felt lighter the moment I walked through the Club’s front door and the youngest members screamed my name and ran toward me for a group hug. That moment reminded me how important the Club is—not just for the kids, but for me too. The Club is where I always feel safe, welcomed, and like I truly belong. I am currently a junior and am leaning toward a future career in medicine.

Joined Club: 4th Grade
I moved to Steamboat as a quiet, shy fourth grader, and my first day at the Club was hard because it was loud and chaotic. I soon made friends and found mentors in the staff who made me feel seen, and one staff member even taught me how to skateboard, encouraging me to try something new. Now, as a junior staff member, I try to do the same by helping kids try new things and showing them how to be calm and patient through gym games, conversations, and everyday moments—pausing, breathing, and responding thoughtfully. These are lessons I learned at the Club and practice with kids every day. I loved being part of the Club because as a high schooler it gave me something to do every day after school. In the future, I’m not totally sure what path I want to take, but my interests include mechanics, food service, and music.

Joined Club: 1st grade
I first entered the Club as a shy child and now as a junior staff member I strive to make every member feel at home. I love teaching art, beadwork, and crafts inspiring kids to try new things without fear. Often, I see pieces of my own siblings in the children I mentor. I have three younger siblings who live far away so in a way when I connect with the kids I feel like I am connecting with them or visa versa. This year as a senior I am balancing a heavy academic schedule with many duel enrollment classes while working at the Club. I have learned through this and my life experiences to be resilient and focused at the tasks at hand. Though my future is not set in stone I know wherever I go I will bring the kindness and patience I have learned from the Club both as a member and now as a staff.

Joined Club: Kindergarten
As a junior staff I have loved helping the kids learn skills from tying shoes to multiplication and making paper airplanes. During my time at the Club I have watched the Club grow, now offering more opportunities, diverse programs, and bilingual support. My proudest moment was a child saying he felt safe with me. I always felt safe with the staff so this was what I had been aiming for. In middle school I stepped away from the Club and I am so happy I have found my way back, the Club is one of my happiest places. I am only a junior and have not yet narrowed my future path yet but I know it will involve helping children.
